Febutaz 80 MG Tablet is used for decreasing the symptoms of gout. The symptoms could be swelling, pain, soreness, redness and stiffness in certain joints of the body. It belongs to the group of medications called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. The medicine works by decreasing the level of uric acid by blocking the xanthine oxidase enzyme. This enzyme helps the body to make uric acid from xanthine. When there are high levels of uric acid in the blood, it can lead to gout and the symptoms associated with it.Dosage
Your dosage of Febutaz 80 MG Tablet dosage depends on your age, the condition for which you are being treated and it’s severity, your medical history and reaction to the first dose. It is available in tablet form to be taken by mouth. You can have the medicine with food or without it. - Gout flare
Gout flares may occur after initiation of the treatment due to change in the serum uric acid levels. Discontinue the treatment until the symptoms completely subsided. Simultaneously gout flare prophylaxis with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or colchicine should be initiated for up to 6 months.
