What is Febutaz?

Febutaz Tablet is used for High blood uric acid, Painful joint conditions and other conditions. Febutaz Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then the missed dose should be skipped.
Overdose
Contact a doctor immediately if an overdose is suspected. Symptoms of overdose may include a change in pulse rates, severe drowsiness, confusion, vomiting, hallucinations, convulsions, and fainting. Immediate medical intervention may be required if the overdose symptoms are severe.

Febutaz Tablet - Drug Interactions

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Febutaz Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Febutaz Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products:
  • Azathioprine
  • Indomethacin
  • Mercaptopurine
  • Naproxen
  • Theophylline
  • Warfarin

Warnings for special population

Pregnancy - This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor about the potential benefits and risks before deciding to take this medicine.
Breast-feeding - No clear data is available about the presence of this medicine in the human breast milk. Consult your doctor about the potential benefits and risks before deciding to take this medicine.
General warnings
Gout flare - Gout flares may occur after initiation of the treatment due to change in the serum uric acid levels. Discontinue the treatment until the symptoms completely subsided. Simultaneously gout flare prophylaxis with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or colchicine should be initiated for up to 6 months.
